Re: Touch Pro 2 no longer available through Asurion

This is my first post so let me throw my 2 cents in here just get some responses or even better yet to be prepared when my TP2 goes south or I lose it. As it stands now Sprint has very few phones that will work on prior unlimited data plans so our choices are limited as to what can be used as a sub to replace our phones. What are we to do or can someone make a list of the current phones that will work on the plans we have now without upgrading and paying more money. I had a Treo Pro and they tried to send me a palm pre (of which I already own) without knowing if my current plan would support the phone because they claimed no more were available (even though sprint has some in their warehouse)(Treo Pros) so they sent me a Samsung Intrepid which is a horrible phone compared to the Treo Pro. But anyway what are we to do.

Got it. Thanks for clearing that up. But I myself would pick the original droid over the tp2 just on stability alone. The tp2 might be a world phone and you can do alot with it, but It is too unstable. Either way if you like the tp2 then you like it. Nothing wrong with that. I kept my tp2 as a backup.

Sorry for the threadjack!

Yankee, do you have some connection to StealthGuards that you go through the trouble to advertise for them in your posts? I ask because I bought a set not knowing they require you to apply liquid to the phone to install them. Bad idea to be squeegeeing water across the screen of a phone. They sit unused in a desk drawer. If you have a relationship with the company then your posts amount to SPAM.

Its an affiliate link. You can look up information on what an affiliate link is. I have the link because I use their product and it works for me.
As for using liquid to install the protector, there are lots of protectors that use a special liquid solution to install. Zagg which is sold at almost every electronics store that sells cell phones uses their own special solution. If you have never seen this process used for screen protectors you should take a look at it. It almost gurantees no dust or debris getting under the screen. Hope that helps answer your question.

Sigs are not supposed to be used for advertising products. If it is an affiliate link, then it is advertising.

Yes, using liquid is a great way to affix to glass, but it is too risky to use on a phone where it can easily get past the touchscreen and into the phone. There's a reason the TP2/Tilt 2 has moisture indicators inside them to void the warranty.

Ppcgeeks has already told me its okay to do the link.

If using their special solution was bad they wouldn't keep doing it. Plus the solution does not go into phone as you say, its only on the screen. Plus in florida manufacturers cannot void warranty just by indicator alone. Also Zagg and stealth guards sell thousands of them every day and no one ever complains. Best buy also use the solution in their store. If you don't want to use then don't. No one is forcing you.

Well, I don't live in Florida. Had I known it required wetting the touchscreen to install I would not have purchased it. I didn't find out until I got it and a link was included to the installation instructions. A little too late by then. It would be easy for liquid to seep past the bezel, speaker or drip into the keyboard during application. Not willing to take that chance.

Haven't been on this forum for ages so I didn't read through 11 pages of this thread, but I just received my refurb. TP2 from Asurion.

I am a technician at Best Buy, I have been installing the Zagg shields on multiple devices for quite a while now. While there is a liquid solution used to adhere the shield, it is made for use in situations where the liquid can seep into a crack or hole. The solution is electronic safe, and should not cause any corrosion damage on the device unless used improperly, even then you would have to soak the device in the fluid in order for that to happen.

This tread is way off topic - and the title is very misleading - I'd say it's time to close it down...
