custom taskbar volume trouble

Hey guys,

Hoping you can help me out here. After installing a tsowen custom task bar (basically just for the battery meter) I've got some volume control issues. Everything seems to work fine until I try to adjust the volume while any music is playing, then the phone locks up. It happens with the sense 2.1 music player, and it happens with Slacker. Come to think of it I haven't tested it with the windows media player, but I don't usually use that. It works OK with youtube, but I believe it used to popup the volume control on the screen, now the buttons just work the volume up and down while showing the youtube app on the screen.

VZW stock 6.5 rom with minor customization

any ideas?
