Re: Audio Quality - Bluetooth vs. 3.5mm cable

Bluetooth audio is just horrible compared to direct connection on the TP2. If anybody can share on how to tweak the bitpool settings and have them stick after a reboot, please share. I was able to get excellent audio from my old TP1 just by tweaking the registry and changing the bt bitpool settings, but the TP2 runs that f#$king BTTrayCE.exe process and it ALWAYS defaults to a bitpool of 32.

Re: Audio Quality - Bluetooth vs. 3.5mm cable

everything digital is better than analog. the wired usb headset that comes with the tp2 sounds better than bluetooth and any set of normal stereo headphones because the 3.5mm jack is analog. and the micro usb port is digital.

Re: Audio Quality - Bluetooth vs. 3.5mm cable

I use a 3.5mm headphone to RCA cable and it works flawlessly. Pain to plug in the TP2, but the TP2 sounds like garbage over bluetooth and the connection drops constantly.

Re: Audio Quality - Bluetooth vs. 3.5mm cable

Bluetooth may sound good enough for you, but there's no denying that an audio signal, whether analog or digital, is always going to be better on a wired connection than on a wireless one. Digital is not necessarily always better than analog for starters, and that's not even the real issue in the situation. I would definitely recommend the OP use the 3.5mm jack for audio. It's going to sound better, be easier to setup, and use less battery power.

Re: Audio Quality - Bluetooth vs. 3.5mm cable

Out of curiosity, has anyone found a single long cable that uses the HTC proprietary USB connector (with audio) that will allow a single cable solution for both power and audio without using the bulky "Y" adapter? Then you could run just one wire to the phone and breakout the audio downstream where it wouldn't be so messy.

I already have the Media cable (Composite video plus L&R audio with headphone and USB connector). The breakout for power is too close to the phone. A longer version of this cable could work...
