TP2 just tried to force me to Hard Reset.. how/why?

sorry i couldnt get a screen shot of the message but ive never seen it before ever..

soft reset my phone, dual boot poped up, chose windows, and got something like this: this was on an all black screen and the text took up the whole window

Your phone will not boot due to (something) or an unautorized download.. please press volume up to hard reset your device, or any other button to cancel.. this will erase all info and reset your device to factory settings...

hadnt downloaded anything in a few days.. it was just a soft reset like i do most mornings.. id never seen that screen like that before..

needless-to-say, i cancel the hard reset and dual boot showed again, clicked windows and it booted perfectly... dunno why, but my phone wanted a hard reset, but in the end didnt actually need it..

anyone seen this screen, in this fashion before??

Wow, that sounds incredible, I've never seen that, but sounds like a crazy anomaly.

That's a new one. Some kind of safemode? Never had the phone tell me it needed a hard reset. Very strange.

Is this the screen that you saw? I had this happen on the original (6.1) sprint rom a couple of times- very annoying- I was never able to figure out why it happened although it always seemed to be associated with a soft reset in an area with poor coverage

Re: TP2 just tried to force me to Hard Reset.. how/why?

That happened to me on stock 6.5 after I installed the lookup(?) app. I forget the name.. but its the app that does virus checks and you can also ping it to update your location through a browser. I always ignore the prompt and it let me run the phone without any problems. I uninstalled the app and it went away.
