Re: My HTC Touch Pro 2 went nuts
sounds like it needs to be replaced because a hard reset should remove any software problems. did you add any tweaks after the hard reset? some tweaks cause problems too especially if they arent compatible

Re: My HTC Touch Pro 2 went nuts
Thanks for the responses.
It did not get wet that I know of. I was driving to somewhere and it was fine. I went back to car and went to call someone and it did not connect; it was later that I realized it was connecting but no sound. Then 3 hours later no screen rotation at all. I did not add any tweaks whatsoever. I hard reset it and tried to call and rotate and nothing. I read somewhere about a white strip that changes colors. I do not recall seeing it but I do have a red strip when the back cover comes off on one side. Could that be it and it somehow got corroded? I love the phone, but it is worrying me. Eric |

Re: My HTC Touch Pro 2 went nuts
Eric,
Try removing the battery and waiting a couple of seconds before reinserting it again. Sometimes a hard reset doesn't for me when I work on my TP2, but removing the battery may help. |

Re: My HTC Touch Pro 2 went nuts
Thanks, I have removed the battery. Still not working. I see a red strip so it probably did get wet although it was not near water.
Yes, it definitely did go through airport x-ray. Does this hurt the phones? All cells go through don't they? Thanks for the ideas everyone. Eric |

Re: My HTC Touch Pro 2 went nuts
i don't think an xray would have any adverse affect on the phone. that red srtip you see is the moisture strip. means if it turns red, you supposedly got the phone wet. but you can't really trust that darn strip because if you're not mindful when you open your battery cover, moisture on your hand can turn it red.
let me see if my psychic ability is kicking in............i see a phone replacement in your near future you'll either need to call sprint CS to get replacement under warranty, or take it into a sprint store. if you're sure your phone didn't get wet...the sprint store might give you grief about the red moisture strip and tell you you're lying about it not getting wet. but not to worry...any experienced techinician can look deeper into the phone and find out if your phone did get wet or not.
