tethering TP2

i need to use my tp2 as a modem until i get internet service at my new house. i am trying to search but this phone is not cooperating.

please tell me what the easiest way to tether this phone to laptop.





YES i want to search but need to tune up my opera anyway.

- Enable USB Teathering -
1. Go to: [HKLM\Services\CMGuardian]
2. Create a new DWORD Value called "Flags" and set the value data to "4"
(if it is already there then skip)
3. Softreset
4. Go to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
5: Delete the "isext.dll" entry
6. Go to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
7. Change "ForceCellConnection" from "PhoneAsModem" to "Sprint"
8. Softreset

Then plug USB cable into phone and PC. The phone should pop-up a menu - select internet modem. Internet sharing will appear on the phone and Status should display "connected".

Surf from your laptop.

I have never modified registry on a windows mobile device. how do i get to registry on this thing?

I have always installed the Windows Mobile reg editor called PHM Reg Editor. Not sure the orignal link I have works any more but, there are a number of reg editors for WM online. Works just like a desktop reg editor.

Try the following, it works great for me, forgot where I got it but it works:

How To: Tether (VZW)
This is how I got my TP2 to tether with my laptop. (I have an unlimited data plan.)

The Internet Sharing app is 'hidden' in the /Windows folder. It's named "IntShrUI".

1. Go into your /Windows folder. (I sorted by name to help find it quicker)

2. Press and hold IntShrUI until the menu comes up. Select 'Copy'.

3. Navigate to your Start Menu/Programs folder.

4. Press and hold, then select 'Copy Shortcut'.

5. Rename it to whatever you'd like (I renamed it 'Internet Sharing')

It should now show up in your Programs. The only option available is USB, and I keep the Network Connection set to Verizon Wireless...not sure what the 'VZW Embedded GSM' option does. Connect your phone to the your laptop/desktop (make sure you have Activesync installed). Hit connect, wait about 5 seconds and you should be good to go. Again I have the unlimited data plan. This may work with the Sprint/T-Mo versions as well.

If anyone knows how to unlock the Bluetooth option instead of USB, please let me know...I know with my old LG Incite there was a Bluetooth option and it kept me from having to pull out my cord every time.

easiest way? install cab.. run the app.. connnect via wifi to laptop.. done

thanks.call me a dipshit but sincee i upgraded to 6.5 i feel like i am on a mac trying to do things on here. i installed it but cannnot seem to find in in the phone to "run" the app and use it.

should be in settings>connections>wifi internet sharing
