Txt msg lag bug & potential solution

Most ppl are familiar with the text msg bug (lock up & freezes when quantity of texts increases).

Just some thoughts if it was a winmo 6.5 issue then the issue should be present on all winmo phones.
My friend just got a samsung intrepid with winmo 6.5 and he has 300 txts no delays / bugs etc.
My TP2 has 78 txts messages (no mms) and is already laggin on open & close of the texts.

I disabled Sense, the lag disappears with the few 78 messages.

Found this article, I'm not sure if anyone knows if we can get this working on TP2...

Are we just SOL b/c HTC will not provide us an update for this as its not in their interests?
