Yes, you are at risk if you do not let a sync complete. Normally, if you interupt a sync you will have to redownload all you contacts from the computer to the PDA to repair the damage.... You phone at that time will appear contactless, but they are still on the PC (I hope).
If you have an urge to pull the PDA out of the connector, hit stop first, but that usually takes 15 seconds.... at least...

From the phone or computer ?
If from the computer, is it possible that you have multiple profiles (on the PC) and you are logging in under one that does not have Activesync setup for your phone ? |

I am syncing my TP2 and two Android devices to the Google cloud with contacts and calendar and I never had anything disappear. Every once in a blue moon I have had a server issue where it cannot connect with the TP2, but nothing disapperared from any of the devices.
Maybe resetting your activesync profile will fix it. Also, disable Tasks from syncing, as syncing tasks with Google is a problem...... |
