data limits, broadcasting wifi

ok, this is a dumb question, I know it's definitely been asked somewhere, but I don't know what to search to find it.

I've been using wifi from my phone this month, and I just looked on my sprint account and found that from various things (a lot of video and image browsing) I've used 9GB of data in less than a month. This seem like quite a lot, I don't remember reading anyone using this much. I have unlimited data on a SERO plan.

should I be worried? I'm definitely going to halt the usage for now, but it seems like if any sane person looked at my phone usage they'd realize it'd be incredibly difficult to use that kind of data transfer on just the phone.

I use 15-20GB every month (on verizon) and no issues. there was another thread about this a few weeks ago, and some ppl were pulling 80GB/month on sprint unlimited data plans... I think you're okay.

Sprint does have a cap, 5 GB/mo. in total or 300 MB/mo. while off-network roaming.

Then they don't enforce it. There was a thread a few weeks ago ppl were posting usage and there were a couple 80+GB users.

Re: data limits, broadcasting wifi

I tether via wifi sharing but just on principle I try not to overdo it. Once or twice a week to go forum hopping on my netbook, or more extensive use if I go on a vacation or whatever. Also on SERO 500 plan...never had a problem in 3+years
