Re: Task29 didn't complete; can't enter bootloader.
Ok, I managed to successfully flash Energy's ROM after trying everything I've posted thus far. The key was to:
1) Extract the RHODIMG.nbh from task29.exe (7-zip), slap it on an SD card, and then flash task29 via SD card in the short window the faulty bootloader left open. The bootloader came on either a) spontaneously while plugged in or b) when I would remove and then replace the battery while the phone was plugged into the computer via USB. 1a) Note that the bootloader recognized the .nbh on the SD card even though it wouldn't connect via USB to the Custom_RUU on the PC. 1b) Also note that task29 is a perfect fix for these types of bootloader errors resulting from faulty flashes as task29 will flash from the SD card in about 15-20 seconds, which is barely enough time when the thing is cycling spontaneously and there isn't enough time to flash anything else. 2) Then I left the phone unplugged with the battery, sim card, and memory card out (though I didn't have a sim card to begin with) for about 3 hours. 3) Then I put the RHODIMG.nbh from Energy's ROM (any ROM would work, I'm sure) on the SD card (after formatting to erase the task29 .nbh), assembled the phone w/battery and SD card installed and then performed vol,d+pwr to enter bootloader and from there it was like normal. Thanks for the tips guys; case is closed as far as I'm concerned! Last edited by Matthew1034; 05-23-2010 at 10:37 AM. |
