Just curious.

No. Spoke to several reps + couple friends that work at Sprint. EVO will NOT work on Simply Everything Plus Referral.

I really hope they all are wrong (5+ ppl). But it seems like EVO will not play with Simply Everything Plus Referral plan.

I was also told by same 5+ ppl, that minimum required plan for EVO will be Everything Data 450 which is 69.99 + 10 phone fee, netting $79.99

Thanks for the information. June 4 is only a few weeks away. I am already month-to-month as it is. Might as well wait, recheck the site a few days after and see if it's there. NOT saying I don't believe you, but every Sprint rep I talk to give me different information about everything. Worst case, I'll get it some time after June 4 and pay what I pay to upgrade to the EVO, don't guess they'll raise the price of the thing after release. Might even lower it considering all the other phones slated to be released (of course, probably not by Sprint).

Thanks again.

Has anyone found a newer awesome phone that i could put my sim card from my tp2 into and keep my sero plan going. Will this even work? Why wouldn't it?

It's not that you've asked a dumb question, it's that you've asked like 2 or 3.

To prove this, take your SIM card out of your phone and see if your phone still works on SERO. And then read the owner's manual.

The sim card has nothing to do with the phone working on sero. Plus the sim card on sprint phones is only on the phones that are world phones. Sprint does not use sim cards for their phones. Only gsm phones require a sim card for them to work in the states.

The evo will work on the simply everything plus referral plan. I had that plan for several months before switching to an everything data family plan and I had the hero and evo on this plan. Only reason I changed was to get the employee plan from my job. So if the everything plus referral works for you than go ahead and get it. Only catch is that due to it being discounted it won't qualify for an employee discount.

Re: Any better SERO phones than TP2 coming out?

These are all a grim set of prospects. I am going to be trying to keep my TP2 alive as I have a sweet deal with a $15 data plan and a 23% employer reduction. I recently activated a new dumb phone for my wife purchased on e-bay and did it all via the Sprint website. Made me wonder if the EVO would also activate on my old plan this way. In any case, am not too attracted to the EVO because of battery-life issues. I was looking at the Samsung Epic, but this is running Android 2.1!

BTW, I can sympathize with the originator of this post who has not found bliss with the various ROMs. I chickened out rooting mine after reading the problems everyone seems to have, even though seems I have to reinstall my stock 6.5 system once a week from the backup.

Cheers

US CDMA phones use ESN thats built into the phone instead of SIM cards...the sim card as mentioned above is for international use...

Currently there is 700$ phone made by motorola ES400 which has a 600mhz snapdragon in it I guess..overall though your best bet is going Sprint Premium for $10 a month extra to get better phones...

While Epic does not have official 2.2 yet..there are leaks and custom roms which work pretty well
