how much better is the TP2
So I am coming off an HTC TP and thinking about going to a TP2. I am not sure as to if they are anyway alike as in features or how they run. I didn't like how over time the TP became very sluggish and non responsive. There were a lot of random freeze ups and it wasn't because i was using too many applications, plus the video messaging was absolutely terrible from the beginning and never really could send/receive pics and such. All in all i was wondering if it would be a better upgrade or would i be dealing with these kinds of issues still? I am considering the Samsung Moment because if its anything like the Droid by Motorola then I'm sold... but that's a question no one seems to be able to know.

There is a sub forum on the Moment, http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=127 as for the TP2 it is going to feel pretty close to the TP OS wise. It's got its quark's just like any WM Phone does. Some people seem to have issues with Pic and MMS, Personally I really have never had to many issues with it. just my thoughts. |
Re: how much better is the TP2
I like the bigger screen, but don't like the fact I lost the flash. If I had time to play with the TP2 before upgrading, I would have kept my TP till the HTC Desire comes to USCC next month.

Re: how much better is the TP2
than the TP1??? well theres not really anything a TP2 can do that a TP1 cant... but build wise, the TP2 is superior in every aspect.. its a solid device, doesnt feel janky at all.. play with it for 2 days and your TP1 will feel like a little kids toy seriously.. and the screen OMG, put a TP1 next to a TP2 and the screen on TP2 is almost the enitre size of a TP1 outer casing and all... i still have active TP1s but My 2 is my main phone.. so anytime i use them for anything but tethering, it feels so tiny and breakable...
for $199 now, you cant go wrong... but an EVOs only 199 as well ;) |

We should really be able to get touch pro 2 for less than $199 considering the obsolete HW |
Re: how much better is the TP2
i wouldn't call it obsolete just yet. lol.
its still the best phone you can get with a keyboard and windows on sprint. the imagio on verizon is nice but the keys suck. yes the EVO and Incredible are nice but I am not getting an EVO right away simply because I don't know when 4g is coming to my area. if they didn't charge extra for it I would have ordered it already. |
Re: how much better is the TP2
Obsolete HW compare to Evo.
Software and plans are another story |
Re: how much better is the TP2
True but lets get back on topic. the op is asking about the tp2 vs tp1.
I actually JUST got my tp2 in exchange for my tp1 so I guess I can speak a little to this since I was using a tp1 for awhile after I left VZW and the Imagio. The build of the TP2 is what makes it so much better then the TP1. The keyboard is solid and almost a pleasure to type on. The screen is much bigger and makes it easy to read emails and web pages unlike the TP1s tiny screen. It also does not overheat when streaming or tethering like the TP1. the only downside is its size and weight. it really isn't too bad but it is heavier and bigger then the TP1. |

oh and the battery life is MUCH better on the TP2. TP1s battery sucks.
