Re: Free Turn-By-Turn NAV for the HTC TPS via Bing. Download now

I keep getting MUCH better search results with the latest Google maps than this latest Bing unfortunately.

The business I work at (I do IT work for a local car dealer) has been in its current location for about 6 years.

Today, I tried searching for it using both the voice search & typing in the name. In the latest Google, using the voice search, it found the business almost instantly (which was rather surprising to me). Bing told me "no result found" even though I tried numerous different search techniques.

The same exact thing happened when I tried searching for my Mother's house address (she has lived in the same house for 40 years)

Works like a champ. This is a large step up from the first version of this Newer bing. (the old one worked great without voice) but now it looks like they are getting things dialed in.

The address searches are never correct, even in Google Maps. It incorrectly calculates the address blocks. I'm not sure how it works, but it's ALWAYS off by 2 - 4 lots.

Has anyone ever used the A-GPS feature? I know a couple of the carriers disable it and allow its use only for their own GPS apps. But, I think changing a GpsOne DWORD value to "1" may actually enable it. Not positive though. This may help with incorrect GPS locations.

I disagree 100%

I am finding the old version gave MUCH better search results.

The more I use the new version, the less I like it.

How so? I like it, Bing has found all address I've typed into it.

I have been doing A/B testing swapping back & forth between the latest Google Maps & Bing.

Google's search has been so much better that I'm not sure I will ever use Bing again. I try Bing first, when it tells me "no result found" I switch to Google & try the exact same search. So far, Google has instantly found EVERY single item that Bing has missed on..

Strange.
I used it yesterday when I first downloaded it. It found every address I put in. Hasn't missed yet. I even added some as favorites. Are you doing voice or typing in the address?

The Turn by Turn is the deal winner for me. That's why I don't like Google. I want the turn by turn and Google doesn't offer that.
