VZW stock rom- New bing directs to VZ Navigator

Alright guys. I just installed the new Bing released 5/11/10. The first time I open the application after installation I am able to get the turn by turn direction from bing. If I close the bing app and open it back then it only redirects me to the vznavigator. Is there a way to get around this? This maybe one of the reasons I will leave vzw as they like to play the monopoly game.

One easy solution. Install a custom ROM. I am using Energy's and Voice navigation work awsome.

I am not a fan of custom roms. Is that the only solution to this?

i think so because i'm on a custom rom and the updated bing navigator worked perfect for me and i'm also a verizon customer...i'm sure if someone digs deep enough they'll be able to find the registry edit that will allow you to use it on a stock rom

I just installed the latest Bing on my TP@ with VZW 6.5 Stock ROM. I did not experience being redirected to VZNav. I've heard that you need to make sure you uninstall any other version of Bing that you have installed. However, since the only version of Bing I had installed came with the ROM, it was uninstalled when I installed the new version.

Exit the program and open Bing again. It then directs you to vznavigator. The only time the turn by turn directions from bing works is the first you open it after installation.

Docmump, the latest version is 5.13.2010.5040. Its a beta version, hope that helps.

Anyone know how to disable this feature where it directs me to vznavigator? I am using vzw stock rom 6.5.

When I downloaded from Marketplace onto my Verizon TP2 with stock 6.5 ROM, it said that version was released on 4/27/10 and the voice directions did not work. But when I downloaded from m.bing.com the voice directions work properly on my stock Verizon ROM.

Now in regards to your issue. I went to the Microsoft forum and your question was one of their FAQ questions. They said if you uninstall Bing then remove the Bing folder after that reinstall Bing, it should not direct you to VZNavigator.

So, I downloaded the latest version of Bing to see if there are any truths to the voice turn by turn... I must say this.... It's true and it's nice

If you dont have Bing installed to help you navigate, you should.
