Yeah, you have to use a 2gb or less fat32 formatted card. Place the renamed exe in the root directory of your sd card. Put your device in bootloader with the card in the slot and the flash should start eventually.
i use an 8gb card myself, no problems flashing.

Re: Wanna make $20? Help a Noob!

It sounds like you're having the same problem I did with my last Touch Pro2. One week it was working fine with ActiveSync, then the next, it stopped working. My phone would still charge through USB, but would not be recognized as a device, even the USB prompt screen wouldn't pop up. From my understanding, this is a common error with Sprint Touch Pro2, but I don't remember where I read it from. In any case, in the process of trying to flash back to stock and relock my phone, I accidentally stopped my phone in the middle of the flash process when relocking my phone through SD, so when it turned it on, it would go straight to the bootloader screen and stop there. I was already on my way to the Sprint Repair center, and did not want to drive back to try to flash again through the SD card, so I just had them look at it. The store I went to, I guess tried getting the phone to respond to USB, but it didn't and deemed it unrepairable, in the end, they ended up giving me a "new" phone, one that happened to be returned.

I don't know if this helps or anything, but depending on you get at Sprint, you might be able to get a straight replacement if you are under warranty. Before I forget to mention it, I do have TEP, so that might make a difference in their decision.

Re: Wanna make $20? Help a Noob!

I guess this can be related to the hardware USB port on the Touch Pro2

about two days ago, the Pro2 was charging and fell from the night stand/while still on the charger plug. Somehow it bent the USB port on the phone, ever since it's been hard to get it to be detected as USB on the PC and im a little warry about charging since when connected to PC it goes from USB to Serial like 4 times in a minute if its not angled right

TEP would replace my phone at the repair shop i believe. Just lazy to drive out and all that, i should do it soon though, because i finally got a really good ROM i love to run

Re: Wanna make $20? Help a Noob!

I think the absolute easiest thing to do is this.

1. Extract the ROM you are wanting to use. 7Z works best as this has already been discussed.
2. Find the biggest file in the package you just unzipped. Rename it to RHODIMG.NBH and place that file on the root of your Micro SD Card.
3. Find the exe file in the opackage you unzipped called enterbootloader.exe and also place this on the root of your sd card.
4. Once in the file explorer of your phone, navigate to enterbootloader.exe and run that program.

Your phone will reset into bootloader mode and let the flashing begin.

Now if you can't get into the phone. Still place the rhodimg.nbh on the root of the sd card...and place the card into the phone...just not all the way. On your computer, run rhe RUU and when you get your phone to the tricolored screen unplug the phone from the computer and then reset your phone. Your phone should reboot to the tricolored screen. If that's the case, restart your phone one more time this time have the micro sd card fully inserted. This is what works for me....especially if I get stuck in a reboot cycle.

Wink Re: Wanna make $20? Help a Noob!

I had this happen with my titan,
1) try a different cord to plug the phone into PC if u hadnt tried already, I had a bad cord once that caused me alot of headache, till it was figured out.

2) also uninstall and reinstall activesync

3)and what worked for me once when i was using XP is to delete the USB controller in device mgr and then reboot and your PC should reload the USB controller.

With all the suggestions, if your phone doesnt still work, then it is a real good chance its hardware related.

Just tell sprint u tried to update your ROM to a newer version and you lost power during the process, which messed up your phone.

anyways goodluck
