Is there any way to use the old "start menu" ?

Hi guys,

My TP2 has been getting really laggy and just basically annoying to use. I'm on the Official Sprint 6.5 rom and I'm going to turn off sense and just used the old school windows mobile. Is there any way I can get the old start menu, where it drops down instead of taking you to the 6.5 menu?

I was also wondering if anyone else is just running the stock wm or are other people fine with sense?

A great alternative to Sense is SPB Shell (not freeware).

A great alternative to start menu is QuickMenu (freeware). It drops down and looks like WM6.1, though it is significantly more powerful. I've used it for a while but eventually went back to the WM stuff. Check it out at: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-...menu-v2-7.html

I turned off Sense and the phone runs much faster now.
Just uncheck it on the Today menu items. I am on a 6.5 stock ROM and like the old Today screen.
On the Start menu, I found it helpful to make subdirectories to make it easier to find stuff.

Re: Is there any way to use the old "start menu" ?

ive got a few cool little plugin apps for the old winmo today screen still im sure... whether sense is on or not, its still running 6.5 so im not sure on the compatblity..

elecont launcher - $5 was the app launcher i used, nice and customizeable.. this could be compared to the quick links were used to now.. can pick how many rows, columns, etc for apps just like CHTEditor.. icons are super customizeable..best app i ever paid for (WMWifiRouter aside)

PDAstatus-free.. adds ulitity plug in.. wifi and bt toggle, Ram, Rom, SD space, and a few other.. couple icon packs to chose from or make your own..

i ran those for a loooong time before flashing my very first Rom... PDAstatus at top, whatever in the middle.. elcont on bottom... those were the simple days lol
