Disable Sleep Button when KB open on Touch Pro2

Hello Group

I know this is a newb q ... so forgive me.. but has ANYONE come up with an app or registry change that will disable the sleep button on top of my Verizon Touch Pro2 when the keyboard is open? It's really easy to accidently put the phone to sleep while typing that way.
