HTC TOUCH PRO 2 Unlocked. Will Not Work For Sprint?

I purchased a tp2 off of ebay that is unlocked and i cant figure out how to activate it for the sprint network.

Can anyone step by step me to get it to work. I would grately appreciate it!

Is it a sprint TP2 or something else?? Calling them always works

Is it rom unlocked or sim unlocked?? or both..

Give some more info

Usually web based acquisitions of "unlocked" for phones are for the specific use on GSM networks and would not be able to be used for Sprint services. Unless the distributor which the device was purchased from stated that the phone was for the carrier Sprint.

Lets go over Sprints policy on activating phones.

1. They will NOT activate a non-Sprint branded phone.
2. You *can* *possibly* activate it, BUT! That is considered a hack, and Sprint WILL terminate your contract and pursue you should you get caught, AND this board will not teach you how to do it (there's been many threads about this).
3. If you want to be legal, refer to rule #1.

Now that that is out of the way, is it a Sprint phone?

It is a sprint phone, so im not doing anything illegal. im not sure what type of unlock it has, i know andriod is installed on it. How can i determine what type of unlock it has

OK...if its a Sprint phone with Andriod, its security unlocked which is needed to flash to different IOS. You should be able to activate either over the phone or online (sprint.com/activate) or through your account page on sprint.com just fine. Well, assuming the ESN isnt locked

Try it and see

The Sprint Rep said that this phone has been flashed and will not work on the Sprint network...

I dont believe that is true?

I purchased this phone off of craigslist, i hope i can get it to work because i hate to know i wasted my money. Im not to tech savvy especially with all of these abreviations and words but im trying my best to learn

Have you tried activating it? If you havent, why not?

edit: wait a minute...first post you said you got it off of eaby, last post you said CL, and your profile says youre with ATT...do you even have a Sprint account yet? Something's fishy.

Go activate it now and be done with it. If it doesnt activate, you got screwed.

I didnt mean to say ebay. I probably said that because i was on the site at the time reading to see if it was possible for me to activate it on sprint by reading the auction listings on another unlocked tp2. ill go try to activate it now but the tech in the store told me it wasent possible.

Also i have both and iphone and tp2. Trying to see which i like better

if it is unlocked, download the sprint stock ROM and run it while your phone is connected to your computer, follow the instructions. this will take it back to stock. you should be able to activate it online after that.

it is the last ROM listed on the first post. download it, then run the exe on your computer.
