Is it possible my TP2 came with a disfunctional mic?

I just received a TP2 as a replacement from the TP1, it was new but the microphone doesn't work. Doesn't work in calls, doesn't work in voice recording, ect. Is it possible my new phone came with a dead mic? Has anybody heard of this before or know how I could test to see if this is indeed a hardware problem?

Problem solved

Installed an old .cab from my TP1 to my TP2 something called "audiofix .." something (I think on the tp1 it increases earvolume?). Anyway, on my TP2 this disabled the microphone, just a forewarning to people out there.

seems to always be a user problem when there's a problem.. i always tell people to remember the last thing they did to their phone and work from there back
