Re: [BOUNTY] Working FM on TP2
isn't there already an FM radio cab? I mean, I have it installed on my TP2 right now. Its called "FM Radio" from HTC themselves... of course, i get no stations on it. You have to plugin a head set or at least a 1/4 cable to be used as an antenna. The app gives you the option of sending sound to the headset or speaker. But as I said, Ii can't pick up any stations... maybe I'm missing a driver.

Re: [BOUNTY] Working FM on TP2
- Sprint TV also uses cellular data and doesn't have much choice.
- The FM receiver uses much less power, and may get reception where where you cannot get cellular data. - Local sports games are not commonly broadcast on Sprint TV/Radio, they are on FM. - Some gyms broadcast TV audio on FM only. - During a natural disaster (hurricane, earthquake, etc.), cellular service is likely to be overloaded or non-existent, FM radio is likely to work much better to get needed information. - The FM receiver is capable of receiving RDS data (short text snippets: traffic data, emergency vehicle alerts, local info) which a GPS app may be able to make use of. Additionally.. - We know that our phones have the capability to receive FM broadcasts, whether or not it is disabled is irrelevant. As tech geeks, we want the feature to work. |

Re: [BOUNTY] Working FM on TP2
Every user is different and likes or dislikes different features. Plus, enabling the PPC user is what this site (to me) is about. Am I wrong? I would very much appreciate this feature in my tp2. So, +1 for my vote. As a Verizon customer though, I would love to enable it just in spite the corporate "Nazis" at Verizon. Last edited by xTSFx; 04-25-2010 at 02:24 PM. |
