USB Storage Mode Problem?

Im on the latest mighty rom sense 2.5 and im noticing whenever i connect to my ps3 or laptop its not via usb mass storage mode alot of times it never connects but the device is charging its connected and everything but the ps3 and laptop will not read it in mass storage mode

now i have a patriot memory card could that be the problem? my sandisk never gave me any problems any suggestions? could it be the rom or the memory card?
