Sprint TP2 in HK/Taiwan?

I know a lot of people have threads about using their TP2s in Europe, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips for bringing your phone into Asia.

I'm going to Hong Kong and Taiwan for vacation for just two weeks. Do I just buy a Prepaid SIM and plug it in? It sounds as simple as that, but I want to make sure...
