Speakerphone Background Noise

Hi all,

I have recently purchased a TP2 and am running MightRom on the Sprint Network.

When I use the speakerphone in a car, or even a slightly loud area, the person on the other end complains of extreme background noise. I have always talked on the speakerphone in my car, and I have never had anyone complain about noise until I started using the TP2. The car is not noisy at all. I have the windows rolled up and the radio off... I don't know why this is happening, because I have only heard great things about the TP2's speakerphone.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any fix?

Thanks

Thanks

Re: Speakerphone Background Noise

Sounds similar to my touch pro. Probably hardware issue. Could try stock rom and test some more but i would just go get another phone.

There is one setting to play with.. settings/phone - advaned tab. Reduce noise in phone calls

Re: Speakerphone Background Noise

Yeah, I have tried all of those settings...

None of them make any difference. My callers complain of horrible background noise when I'm driving. Also, I was in my back yard yesterday, and the air conditioner units came on. It was not loud at all, but the speakerphone picked them up and my caller was complaining of background noise.

I may have to trade the unit in for another one and see if that solves the problem...

Re: Speakerphone Background Noise

Your car does give off road noise...the TP2 is probably picking that up....also you have to remember this phone has 2 mic's...so it will pick up 2x as much as a phone with only one. Your phone is not defective....I have the same thing happen to me when I'm driving down the road....window up or down....the Mic is just that sensitive...could be a bad thing or a good thing....

I would recommend calling up HTC..... 866-449-8358 and asking them about it...they may have a solution to your issue...dont bother calling Sprint, since the will most likly send you from department to department and give you the same answer you heard 2 departments before....Yes...I've had the deal with those idiots they call Tech Support...

Re: Speakerphone Background Noise

why would you use speakerphone in a car? That is what a headset is for. speakerphones are made for controlled environments not a scary place such as a car or outside. I have both the platronics 925 and 975 and highly recommend both.
