New Roms!?? It ain't broke, should I fix it?

Hey all, Been a while since I've been here, mainly because my MightyRom has been working amazingly! I decided to come back because I was having a small issue with MMS, but I see that the ROMs have had quite a few updates since my last visit giving me the update itch. Anyway, I'm really considering updating to a ROM with Sense 2.5 opposed to my 2.1. I saw someone recently who had it working pretty smoothly with landscape and little lag, so I'm really tempted to jump over to a 2.5 ROM. The main problem that turned me away was the lack of MMS working properly with Verizon on the 2.5 Roms (EnergyROM was the one I tried I think). How well is Landscape and MMS working on MightyROM? Are there any "gotta have" improvements that I should know about to switch right now? Thank you for your time and advice!

What rom are you running now?

I was happy with my MightyRom 2-10, I remember I got bored with it because it ran stable but I wanted more eye candy.

Since then I've flashed a few Sense 2.5 roms, e.g. Energy, Sprint OEM, MightyRom 3-23.

I'm thinking about going back to the MR 2-10, I miss the stability and speed.

I'm on Mighty's most recent 2.1 rom. When the sprint rom with 2.5 came out and he posted his rom using that as a base, there were some stability concerns. Flash away but just make sure you have the most recent 2.1 rom to go back to when and if you run into having to reset every time you get into heavy usage.

I'm on the current MightyROM with Sense 2.5 and haven't had a single problem with it whatsoever. Runs very smooth on my TP2. Landscape works flawlessly and I have MMS working.

If you want details on MMS, I can provide links to the cabs for you if you decide to upgrade. They are the ones I've used before and a new one. Pretty basic imnuts and JooJooBee Arcsoft cabs for Verizon.

Re: New Roms!?? It ain't broke, should I fix it?

Many of the 2.5 ROM's have gotten much more stable with the later releases, even Sprint used the 2.5.2012 release. As far as stability, Mr. X's 2.5 is solid as hell, no lag, etc even with heavy use. I'm sure Mighty's is stable, I just haven't flashed it lately as Mr. X's has been rock solid. But don't shy away from them just because of prior instability, that's the nature of the beast, most chefs are using cutting edge releases that are leaks and are not going to be completely stable however many now are stable enough for everyday heavy use without issues. And the MMS workaround in not needed in Mr. X's ROM, I can confirm that. Just provision and run your arcsoft cab and you're done.

Thank you very much. I will look into it this weekend when I have some time to lounge around and break my phone! I'm using an older MightyROM with 2.1, released around October or November, so an upgrade would probably be a pretty good idea. I know Andriod is in heavy beta, but does it look like it will make it with full functionality?

Android has been steadily progressing and is now almost fully functional with calling, data, market, and just about everything basic you would need. Of course there are still a few things left out, but it is coming along very nice. I would give it a try.
