Sim unlocked Sprint TP2 on AT&T data charges??

I am thinking of sim unlocking my spare Sprint TP2 and letting a friend use it on AT&T. My first question is "Will AT&T know he is using a Touch Pro2/Tilt2 after he puts in his SIM card?"

My other question is "If he has the cheap $10 data plan for regular smart phones, will they contact him and tell him he needs to add the $30 data plan for PDA's?"

Thanks for any knowledge you have on this!!

Re: Sim unlocked Sprint TP2 on AT&T data charges??

to my knowledge the gsm radio in a cdma tp2 does not support att 3g bands, so there for i dont for-see att being pissed about your friend using data transfered over edge, it will be running slower so I dont for-see him using as much.

Incorrect -- the CDMA TP2 GSM radio supports all AT&T data bands including 850/1900 HSDPA.

Incorrect the CDMA Touch Pro 2 only supports 2100MHZ HSPA, on AT&T or T-Mobile they will be only be in Edge/GPRS.

Try to get your facts straight before correcting others please.

as far as the extra data charge goes. as long as u connect to the same apn his old smart phone did i doubt they will notice.

This is very correct regardless to whatever hacks I tried with the unlocked radios I could never get a fast connection .... kinda makes me wanna cancel my T-mobile service
