Re: Remote Desktop Mobile and Windows 7 Demonstration on new Sprint 6.5 ROM

Only W7 Professional and above can be remote into. Any of them can remote out to.

If you are below the Pro, then use logmein on the FREE version and you can do it!

You need to open port on your router.

I remote in all the time on my TP2 to all my virtual/fake computers.

Re: Remote Desktop Mobile and Windows 7 Demonstration on new Sprint 6.5 ROM

Not to be johnny raincloud but Ive been doing this for a while now via my mobile phone, first on my mogul, then touch pro and now touch pro 2. I can tell you that the only way to achieve that kind of speed as shown in that video is to have it connected via a local connection or wifi hotspot. there is no way, I repeat NO WAY to get that kind of fluidity via a standard sprint EVDO network. Ive tried and its all choppy. I have to turn off all the extra features in the mobile remote desktop app to get it to be semi quick. I have almost the same hardware as well. Q6600 desktop with 8GB of ram. It does work fairly nice though if I need to view a file on the go Ive left on my desktop.

EDIT: and if you look close in that video you can see hes connection via wifi.

Its better than nothing. I know its kinda hard to remote on the PDA phone. Its like eating rice on chopstix.

Get a netbook and tether on it.

i've also been doing this since mogul days and maybe even my 700wx days? can't remember..

but anyways--as long as i have good reception, my sprint evdo connection is just as good as this video if not better. \

so in conclusion, your statement about NO WAY is inaccurate...maybe your home computers/boxes don't have the best upload speed?

also, i'm also rocking the q6600 yet

Its pretty snappy on sprint EVDO in chicago, but once it dips to 1xRTT its over.

Re: Remote Desktop Mobile and Windows 7 Demonstration on new Sprint 6.5 ROM

maybe its just EVDO in my area, its not that fast at all. at least not nearly as fast as chicago, since the chicago area is 4G now.
