Verizon's *228's Effect On The Radio?

I was using verizon's stock radio on my latest version of mighty rom and i noticed when i did a *228 It made my bluetooth transfers sluggish like the latest verizon radio does.

What effect does *228 and then option 2 have on the radio on the phone? i was just curious

I dont think it effects the Radio at all. It simply updates the roaming list, which prioritizes towers. The radio is only changed via flashing not ota.
