do you guys all dual boot in to android also? jus wondering that might be another common point? i havent booted in to android now in a long time though.

i also found it odd that there are a lot of reviews out there that say their tp2 was so fast after the sprint 6.5 upgrade and they could just leave every prog open without loosing performance. mine is definaly not like that. i also kill about all progs when i'm done to keep the phone running fast.

Android - No, not me.

TP2 fast - yes. Certainly faster than iPhone3G IMO.

Overall, very good phone. I dont have much to complain except a few erratic quirks.

No joke... Went in to the repair ctr and they couldn't figure it out. So... I get a new phone.

i have had both the above installed. Doesnt solve the power button problem. Good try though.

I uninstalled EVERYTHING with a soft reset after every uninstall... Then hard reset then three hard resets one right after the other.
Nothing worked. Wondering if it's not some kind of virus.

How is the new phone? does it not have that problem?

Haven't got the new phone... I get it on Wednesday. But I will make sure it doesn't have that problme when I leave the store and you know I'll be back if it does.

will you be getting a brand new one or a refurb? im soo tempted to take mine in, but i'm afraid they'll order me a refurb (like when they replaced my diamond-don't want to go down that road again) I hope you get a new-in-box one! and that is doesn't have this problem. I may be going back to 6.1 in the meantime. never had this problem until i upgraded.

They told me Brand new... But you know... As long as it works the way it's supposed to and it looks brand new... I'm good.
I dropped my phone three days after I got it and got two good dings on the case and a scratch on the screen. My phone hasn't looked new since I first got it. Looking forward to a shiny new case and a clear screen. And of course a phone I can actually power on.

I doubt if this is a hardware problem. CHanging phone is not going to help.

The phone I leave the Sprint repair center with will not have this problem. I guarantee a return visit if it develops the symptom.
And I will keep returning it as often as I need to. I have TEP and my phone is under warranty till August. I went through 8 Touch Pros... You know they know me there.

Just got a text... My phone is in... Will have report tomorrow.

Here at work... I've just been keeping my phone plugged into the power cord and running the screen alive cab. That way I can just use it withough having to worry about the power button not responding.
lol.

As someone said earlier, the problem is with PRL probably. Changing phone is not going to help. wasting your time.

I'll let you know...
The one they had on display there at the store was up and running and it had stock win 6.5.
You sound so sure that it wont work and that I'm wasting my time on a PROBABLE problem with the PRL? That's good. Don't waste your time. I will.

just wondering though, if it were a prl issue wouldn't that mean pretty much everyone be experiencing this prob? after my last hard reset i didn't update mine this time. had a couple times it wouldn't wake but its been great the last 2 days. hopefully the new replacement will work as it should! :)

Aztec, since the problem is so common and sporadic, it is hard to believe it would be hardware related. Hardware problems are typically easier to identify and are easier to reproduce, consistent, frequent and common.

I was earlier on a SIM unlocked Verizon radio 2.23 (some champions here and on xda) recommend that as std for all carriers. However, that radio gave me all sorts of wierd problems like phone freezing, heating up and battery issues. I went back to 1.96 and the problem was completely solved. In this case. how would it help if I replaced the phone 8 times and install the same Radio on it?

Thats a good point. Only thing I am inclined to right now is that it is not a hardware problem. HTC would have found it out by now. you r power button works once, it should work always. Software with bugs may go into lock up state on certain conditions.
