Sprint 6.5 Update & Tethering?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently running the stock 6.1 ROM for the Sprint TP2. I use my tethering capabalities regularly and am wondering if the new ROM will keep me from being able to do that the same way (free). Anyone know?

I believe you can tether just fine my friend, the new update will not stop you, just install the tether cab and you are good to go.

Does this cab allow BT TETHER?

Just tried this cab and lost the BT PAN option!

Not sure if anyone else has had any other problems with this as well, but I couldn't get tethering to work after I updated. I tried reg edits and cabs, and I tried it with HTCWiFi Router also with no success. Internet Sharing would always wait for the network even if I had previously established a connection, and HTC just had no internet connectivity.
I had an old version of WMWiFi Router on my SD and tried that. The Wifi doesn't work either, but for some reason the USB tethering works... Is there a different tweek I missed or something?

I am having the same issues. Well when I go to install certain cabs it says they have insuffficient privilleges.

hey mate you might want to try installing this cab which unlocks the phone to let you install any cab w.o verification. hope it helps as it helped me when i was having the same problem.

mate i think you need to install an additional cab for it to work wirelessly.

first uninstall the HTC wifirouter
install the cab provided here which actually sets up the AdHoc network which allows you to connect wirelessly.
then install the HTC wifirouter and soft reset device and try connecting via wifi

I use HTC Wifi Router for tethering purpose, and it still works

Tethering - tested and works

1 - using file explorer go to Windows\Start Menu\Programs - delete internect connection sharing

2 install - ICS_and_WModem_Fix cab

3. using a regedit program

Flags = 4 (it's a DWORD Value. if it doesn't exist. you need to create it)

4 - soft reset
5 - Start the Internet Sharing application.
6 - Select Sprint under type of connection.
7 - Hit Connect In the Internet Sharing application.
8 - Connect to the Laptop/PC via USB
9 - Done. No other applications needs to run on the PC/Laptop.
