Re: WP7 no removable storage, no file explorer, no usb hdd- am i missing something?

There is no way I will be supporting this new imitation iPhone crap. I am already trying to figure out what I need to do in order to switch to Android.

Please, HTC, PLEASE, if you have any reps reading this thread- please submit it to management that we want a Touch Pro 3 running Android with T-Mobile USA 3G+.

What we know to have been confirmed already:
No installing apps outside of the app store
No multitasking
No file explorer
No directory structure
No USB flash drive
No storage cards
No 3rd party interfaces
No replacing the built in apps (like web browser)
No backwards app compatibility
Limited use of hardware keyboards

Are you kidding me? Microsoft just basically abandoned us. If I wanted an iPhone, I would have one already. I certainly wouldn't wait several years and then buy a crappy imitation.

I guess this seals it. Android is the "new WinMo" and WinMo is trying to be the "new iPhone" (or something like that). Android came in with basically the same ideas as WinMo- only they used open source software and gave it away for free. But their functionality is basically the same. And that model is working quite well for Android. Now WinMo is abandoning it and trying to be like an iPhone.

I'm sure I'll see most you guys on the other side (Android) soon.

One of you cats that is already on Android should make up a guide on how to switch from WinMo to Android. You know, with apps we'll need to get, how to get our contacts from hotmail, and all that other stuff.

Oh, and look for Apple to sue HTC or whoever releases these iPhone knockoffs. If they sued HTC for Android supposedly copying the iPhone, it shuld be real interesting to see what they do when HTC (or whoever) starts releasing these Win 7 iPhone knockoffs. I know everyone said they were really attacking Google in the lawsuit, but there is a very good chance they were really attacking MS. They didn't list any WinMo devices because they knew it was dead. They could have been trying to get the word out that they would sue any iPhone clones because they knew Win 7 was nothing but an iPhone imitation, and wanted to let everyone know in advance that they weren't cool with that. You never know...

Sprint 4g is already where? lol, certainly not anywhere near me. Not only that, but nowhere near me is listed on the expansion list for this year.

Plus, I'm sick of my slingplayer stopping everytime I get a text or a tweet (which I get hundreds per day, so this is a real issue). I miss the being able to do both at the same time that GSM offers. And since AT&T wants to lock phones down (see the Moto Android phone they just released) and T-Mobile has faster data anyway- for cheaper and no contracts, then I am looking at T-Mobile as my next carrier if they ever get a phone I want.

i saw what at&t did to ruin the moto backflip. horrible yahoo everywhere.
sprint 4g is here in san antonio, so I am happy with that. plus last time i checked out t-mobile they wanted like 2000 in deposits for service (past medical bankruptcy). so i'm staying sprint. i would like to see a tp3 across all platforms like the tp2.

I don't think T-Mobile takes deposits anymore. They have plans with no contracts at all (and they're the cheapest plans they offer, go figure).

I'm with you though- having it on all the carriers would be ideal. That way if whatever carrier you're on makes you mad, you can drop them and get the same phone on the competition.

That's what I did to AT&T. They started requiring $30 data plans on smartphones, so I dropped them and went to Sprint. I was using a TP2 on AT&T, so I just got the Sprint version and kept it moving.

I don't think that's a TP3. I think it's just another device with a slide out qwerty. It can't very well be called a TP3 if it has worse hardware that the TP2.

Maybe TP mini or something like that, but not TP3...

Give me a TP2 running Android with a Snapdragon or Tegra, with twice the RAM, a better camera, and a flash on the camera. Now that would be worthy of being called a TP3.

Yeah, I've read that and the original thread at xda too. All he said was a TP3 was coming, and everyone assumed that was it because it's the only device we know of on the roadmap that tilts.

I doubt HTC would replace a device with a lesser spec'd device. Just like the HD Mini isn't an HD3, I don't think the TP Mini will be a TP3 either.
