Re: WP7 no removable storage, no file explorer, no usb hdd- am i missing something?

Plus, I'm sick of my slingplayer stopping everytime I get a text or a tweet (which I get hundreds per day, so this is a real issue). I miss the being able to do both at the same time that GSM offers. And since AT&T wants to lock phones down (see the Moto Android phone they just released) and T-Mobile has faster data anyway- for cheaper and no contracts, then I am looking at T-Mobile as my next carrier if they ever get a phone I want. |

Maybe TP mini or something like that, but not TP3... Give me a TP2 running Android with a Snapdragon or Tegra, with twice the RAM, a better camera, and a flash on the camera. Now that would be worthy of being called a TP3. |

sprint 4g is here in san antonio, so I am happy with that. plus last time i checked out t-mobile they wanted like 2000 in deposits for service (past medical bankruptcy). so i'm staying sprint. i would like to see a tp3 across all platforms like the tp2. |

I'm with you though- having it on all the carriers would be ideal. That way if whatever carrier you're on makes you mad, you can drop them and get the same phone on the competition. That's what I did to AT&T. They started requiring $30 data plans on smartphones, so I dropped them and went to Sprint. I was using a TP2 on AT&T, so I just got the Sprint version and kept it moving. |

I doubt HTC would replace a device with a lesser spec'd device. Just like the HD Mini isn't an HD3, I don't think the TP Mini will be a TP3 either. |

Re: WP7 no removable storage, no file explorer, no usb hdd- am i missing something?
I don't care what MS does at this point. Unless they completely reverse course on everything related to WP7 (interface, restrictions on 3rd partying skins, restrictions on apps, no multi-tasking, no copy/paste, the stupid push notification with no way to access previous messages, etc), I'm leaving for Android.
In fact, I'm leaving for Android as soon as the Supersonic comes out, unless MS announces those changes before then.

Re: WP7 no removable storage, no file explorer, no usb hdd- am i missing something?
Because, as they've stated, they want to get certain core functions 100% right before adding in other things.
There will never be file access because of the way Silverlight works. However, that doesn't mean you won't be able to save certain types of files. They'll just show up in the appropriate hub. What's to stop someone from writing a "Files Hub"? You could have it show up as a helper app so that if you tap on a link in IE, it'll save the file there. I'm definitely not falling for iPhone Stockholm Syndrome. There is something to say for a phone that just works and you don't have to tinker with to get it to work properly. I'm anti-Apple and AT&T sucks so an iPhone isn't an option. Plus I love my Zune so basically having a Zunephone is going to be wonderful for me. Remember everyone, this is Windows Phone 7 NOT Windows Mobile 7. It's a phone, not mobile Windows anymore... |
