Re: My phone forgot its own password!
I had something similar happen to me this morning. I did a soft reset and it wouldn't take my passcode. I tried 7 of the 8 tries it gives you and then did another soft reset. This time it popped up that it needed a SIM card inserted, which US Cellular doesn't use! After messing with it doing soft resets and power downs, it finally got back to semi normal, although I lost EVERYTHING It even wiped all of the pics off of my memory card! Sorry I know that doesn't help your (or my) problem, but it feels a little better getting it out there...

Re: My phone forgot its own password!
I had a similar problem after installing a screen keyboard just a few days ago... Sorry to say it... but I had to Reset.
And I had not backed up all my data. Sucks!!! But at least my phone runs a little smoother and I was able to omit the programs I wasn't using anyway. Now EVERYTHING gets backed up regularly... Even the memory card which is where my backus go. lol. p. |

Re: My phone forgot its own password!
check with your carrier, Sprint has a program that will read device passcodes, not sure if any other carriers have the same thing

Re: My phone forgot its own password!
Same thing happened to me once...I ended up hard resetting and getting over it. I keep data backed up daily via PPCPIMBackup, so no worries about that....

Re: My phone forgot its own password!
Nope mine was stock except for a couple cabs. (flip clock fix, 1unreadtext, and I think thats about it) I stopped by the main US Cellular shop in town and talked to one of the guys. It was pretty busy so he didnt even look at the phone, but more or less told me that there wasnt much they could do since they didnt get to experience the problem themselves. I can understand the phone resetting itself back to stock like a hard reset, but how could that totally wipe out the memory card as well? Makes me think I may have a virus or something on it. Is there a way to check into that?

Re: My phone forgot its own password!
Mine's the stock WM 6.5, and I don't even have any software installed on there that didn't come with it! Unfortunately, I bought the phone SIM-free, since my carrier doesn't offer it, so I doubt they could do anything to help even if they wanted to.
