keeping agps off, using the newer custom roms and using sttra custom TOMTOM 7.916.9192 helped me to eliminate all my gps lag.

After having issues with my new to me TP2 (from ebay) and tomtom, I tried all of the registry mods, turning off logging etc.
Only thing that fixed it when I flashed the radio to the latest Sprint ROM. The VZW radio caused the GPS lag
