Re: Gmail Questions
I know I'm bumping a month-old thread, but since I never found this particular answer anywhere else...
I tried over and over to make my gmail account work on my lovely new TP2. No matter what I did, it wouldn't accept my password. Until, that is, I changed it. Twice. See, the first time, the new password still had an @ sign in it. The second time, it didn't. And it worked. Just to see if that made a difference, I changed the password again to something with an @ sign in it, and tried to get the account working. It wouldn't work. Changed the password to something without an @ sign - worked again. Is that definite proof that's the problem? Nope, not at all. Did that do it for me? Yep. Just thought I'd share. |

Re: Gmail Questions
I wasn't using Google Sync... there are very clearly differences between how Google Sync works and authenticates via ActiveSync and how the IMAP authentication works. IMAP authentication seems to have been a challenge for a number of people before me, and I was just sharing what I'd learned yesterday through my experience.
