Ok... first of all, I've been flashing ROM's for quite a while. When I received my TP2, I checked PPC geeks for the latest and greatest ROM... only to find that there wasn't an unlocker program out yet! Had the hackers found girlfriends? I was really depressed. So, I left it alone for about 6 months.

Gradually, my stock ROM started eating away at my brain. SMS message order somehow became all messed up... alarm clock worked *sometimes*... occasional lock ups, crashes, etc...

(Enter rest of rant post here)

At the very least... the post was well written, and entertaining. I was hoping, however, to just give my two cents worth.

Your "review" is a very negative one, and not really a review. It's your anger and frustration that things didn't work for you right away, in a very well constructed criticism that would probably be great for a rant blog.

The fact that your HARDSPL didn't work for you right away isn't anything to get so upset about. For most people, having the device plugged in the entire time worked perfectly. For me it did at least.

The fact that you have so many choices in ROMS should be a blessing to you. Remember, these cooks do this out of the kindness of their heart. They do NOT HAVE TO DO THIS FOR YOU. They are techies and enjoy doing it, and if they really wanted to, they could work amongst themselves and keep it private, keep the non-devs out of the loop, and the general population would be left on their dulled down stock roms with no options. So I find this part of your rant pointless.

The fact that the roms didn't work for you out of the box, is most likely to USER ERROR. I have yet to run into the problems you've listed with Mighty's rom, as it's my rom of choice, and even EnergyRom. I also use Mr. X rom which is also very stable. I am still pretty new to flashing, but i've flashed roughly 25 times within this last month, just trying new things. Every time it runs smoothly, and effortlessly. The only times I ever ran into issues are with roms with known bugs and issues... which I went into flashing already knowing.

As far as having to install several cabs to fix the rom out of the box, I have yet to do that as well. I have an XDA_UC folder on my SD card that I keep on there that contain all my fav programs... and has two fixes. One is an MMS fix, and one is updated Sprint PRL's. I run XDA_UC after my flash. Reboot the phone, run Microsoft Myphone, and setup my quicklaunch links on my homescreen and voila... in roughly 10 minutes its almost as if I had NEVER hard reset anything on my phone. Only difference is, different rom. With MR.X's rom, I use Shashimi instead of XDA_UC. That wasn't hard.

I'm sorry, but i'm not looking forward to your further reviews. Your current one had no qualities of an actual review, and was just a hate rant because YOU couldn't either A) Read properly or B) can't handle the fact that this is work done for free by devs out of their homes, and there are bound to be bugs... but bugs can be fixed.

If you can't take the time to appreciate the ROM Flashing game in it's current state.... then just flash back to stock, re-lock and be done with it. Nobody said that you had to take part in this FREE community. Like I said, i'm new to this whole thing, but from the looks of it, have FAR less issues than you do... and am VERY pleased with the work these fine people do.

Take care.

LOL...he said Mighty's ROM's aren't stable. I think many people would have to disagree.

Yall need to get the sticks out yall's asses, that shit was funny and it was his opinion of his experiences with the ROMs, not an indictment of the Chefs.

Re: Dr. Squishy reviews Energy ROM, Mighty ROM

Dr. Squishy,
I can understand some of your issues; however I’ve become a flash junkie. Keep changing my rom as new ones come out. As most of us know, a lot of the roms are beta and will contain some bugs. Guess you can say we are the debuggers. On could stay with Sprint 6.1 no bugs, well very few and not get all they can out of their phones. Now if you want to be on the cutting edge, lots of graphic and push the phone to the limits. You will have to endure a few problems. The chefs really put in a lot of work. To them I tip my hat. On another note, you will find the guys who are cooking one to two versions roms are more stable. I have a TP and TP2. The latter is my business phone and need it to be stable. The other I play with. Flash rom after rom. Thank goodness for a good backup program. My goal is to keep reading, flashing until I get a handle on how to cook and then I will burn my own rom to my liking. Overall I enjoyed reading your post and look forward to your next adventure…
