Re: have you USED android yet??

Yes, I've used one. My dad got a Droid and I was quite impressed, and I've been playing with the emulator a lot lately. I think Android is pretty impressive for such a young OS. It's evolving and expanding very quickly. There are areas where it falls short of WinMo, but WinMo has been around much longer, and frankly has never moved at the pace we're seeing from Google.

Besides, WM is now officially a dying platform. WP7 is a totally new system. Despite what they say about continuing to develop WM6.5.X for awhile, I doubt we're going to see much more coming from hardware manufacturers. And I can't see major developers carrying things forward much longer, as they'll be focusing on WP7 (or abandoning MS entirely). It'll live on for awhile, but I'm ready for something with a faster processor, a capacitive screen, better camera, etc.

So the "WinMo is so much better than Android" folks, it's a moot point. Like it or not, WinMo will die off -- Microsoft WANTS it to. Nearly everyone here is going to either be on WP7 or another platform within the next 2-4 years, tops. I'm sure lots of you are thinking right now "I'll stay with my TP2 until they pry it out of my cold dead hands," but get real. You'll either want something new or it'll just plain die on you. You'll move on, and if you like customization, Android will probably be your best bet.

I love my n1 over my tp2 any day of the week. Using android I relize how terrible the tp2 really is, no offence all, I still have it, but wow how did I use that, nothing smooth about it with no apps installed vs my n1 with 59 installed to device memory, not a hiccup period....

Android for the win....

-takes cover.lol

The only reason I back WinMo is b/c of the ease at which you can sync your files using MyPhone, can open Office documents for FREE! and can easily be customized by generous people on the internets..usually all for free.

Yes WinMo is lacking in its Marketplace, but it will get there. Android is nice, but too much like an iPhone wannabe. widgets? Icons for apps are more manly :) I've seen a Nexus One and the only thing nice about it is the form factor and 2.1. otherwise, its just like the G1..android just gets boring after you see all it can do and realize it is limited..

I have a nexus one and correct it does have some features that favor the iPhone, some features that favor winmo as well but a lot and more that feature the iphone, but is that a bad thing? In only like 5 years and with only 1 device and 1 carrier, the iPhone has passed winmo in marketshare, so being like the iPhone but better isn't a bad idea in my eyes.

The iphone hasn't been out for 5 years (June 27, 2007).

I finally went ahead and grabbed a nexus and im loving it. Sold my TP2 so now I have a nexus and the 3gs... couldnt be happier. I have to admit, the n1 is justttttttttt a tad bit faster than the 3gs but app wise I still use the 3gs more. I'm still holding my sprint line to try to see when or if the supersonic is ever coming out. Whenever it does ill probably sell the n1 and switch over to it... I just hope it comes with sense. I've seen a few people root their n1's and put sense on it already but i'm pretty content with it the way it is.

Now if the iphone 4G AND the supersonic come out sometime around the summer ill probably be one broke dude.
