Swype 3.9. I need some help from the pros.
 

So I have the cab and OEM for the newest redesigned swype. When I install it I a get an error saying that I don't have the supported device and then it loads the kb.

I can type things out but I can't swipe my finger to make words. It draws the lines and then doesn't output text.

I can share these files so that someone that knows what they are doing can fix it. Please only ask for the file if know what you are doing. Installing it as is now does nothing.

Here is a new cab that does not change the model name and will not mess up anything on your device! (I did not make this i found it while perusing the interwebs)

After installing the cab I am not able to unlock my phone. It seems that my pin has been changed... What gives? :scratch:

Just a heads up I didn't post the cab because people have been asked to take it down. Swype was the company that wanted it removed.

BTW - installing this new version of SWYPE messed up my email accounts.. I had to use a program called FIX ACCOUNTS to fix the error.. the account shows up on TF3D but in pocket outlook its gone... the program I used repaired the account.....DOES anyone know if we should NOT run this version.. it appears to mess up people phone (as noted by me and another person on here)....

I tried to install the cab but I instantly get a "installation unsuccessful". Granted, I'm trying it on a Diamond2/Topaz.....anyone have ideas?

Its NOT a program.. its a SIP.. go into ALL SETTINGS-->INPUT and change it to SWYPE

I can not overwrite the file in windows root folder because it is writing protected? How to fix this? ..

I didnt have to overwrite anything using the fixed cab..but if you are only adding the file you need to use a file manager to overwrite protected files such as TOTAL COMMANDER. Just be careful.. as I said, installing this version BREAKS your email until you fix the accounts using a program called "mail account repair" .. it will mess up pocket outlook but leave the account in TF3D .. it also erased my password from my exchange account and I had to enter that again.. I also found out that if you uninstall it, it also breaks the accounts... I have the new version installed and I HOPE it doesnt mess anything else up.. I did see SOME new things.. the on screen keyboard is a little different.. is this a WVGA version for the TP2??

works great on my tpro2! thanks (installed cab from xawen). my emails work still too.

when i went to the input settings from the all settings menu it never worked. it only loaded when i changed the settings with the arrow thing next to the little keyboard pic. (when you have the option to use the virual keyboard). just to let anyone know if its not working with the all settings menu.

i did it 3 times.. I have 1st account as EXCHANGE and second account as IMAP. the IMP account still showed up on TF3d BUT in POUTLOOK it was gone.. I am running a custom 6.5 rom and maybe you are not, so that might be the difference....

hmm.. mine worked both ways.. can anyone confirm that after they install and set their phone to SWYPE and use it and then soft reset that swype STAYS as the default keyboard? On the previous version it didnt... it would revert back to the standard keyboard each time you rebooted.. I had to (and still am) using a program that runs at bootup called SIP CHANGE to set the keyboard to SWYPE after a soft reset...


oh and can anyone confirm what is different other then a different colored popup word suggestion list and a little bit different on-screen keyboard layout?

FORGOT to mention.. make sure you turn on WORD SUGGESTION as by default it is OFF..

it's pre-installed on S3 ROM, so it might be a problem with mighty. I first tried on an older version of s3 taht didn't have it and it worked, but i didn't check the email stuff. then i tried on stock since i was planning to flash to s3 8.5. so i dunno... but thanks for the email fix, should help others. So aside from taht issue, it seems good for you? People should mention what ROMs they have and if it works or not.

THats what I am trying to find out.. I did notice a few things:


1. the on screen keyboard is a little different (is this a WVGA version or a multi-resolution version)

2. the pop-up for the word suggestions is a different color

3. when on certain places where you would type and would rather have a standard keyboaed VS swype, such as passwords or email addresses, you can now type one letter at a time and it types like the regular keyboard and also pops-up the regular windows word suggestions...

anything else different on this version? I would love to know ....

The old version of SWYPE (2.0) worked fine on mighty and didnt corrupt the mail accounts.. this version does but once you install, then fix the accounts, you are good to go.

just to note in case the SWYPE TEAM SHOWS UP HERE ... all of us would pay for swype if you made it available. its the best keyboard out there....

not sure what else is different, but the keys fit better for wvga. i like how they made the enter button nice and big. it was tiny as hell on the previous version....

can anyone post a screenshot of what this version looks like, i've been using the version listed on xda ported from the omnia II version 3644:3645 and haven't had any problems with it in any aspects and the keys seem big enough. ive added a screenshot of the one im using.

NOPE.. Mine works fine.. if you use the cab with the FIX in it, all should work. I assume you are running it on a TP2? I see your info says 800W and I dont know if it works on that...

nope no tp2 for me :D, thing is the modelname file it says tmobile hd2...so i dont think it would have anything to do with being on a tp2, unless op changed something? any1 know?

Killed my data connection also but all I had to do was run update profile and it was back.


Glad it was an easy fix but am loving this version so much fast and using it as a normal keyboard is so much easier..

On mine it did mess up the email (as I said I had to use the program I linked to above to fix it) but the data connection is still working.. Im on a touch pro 2.. I see most people with issues are not on a TP2.. maybe that is the issue? I know the software isnt made specifically for the TP2 but maybe there is something in the phone that it came from that is similar to the TP2....

If anyone can figure out what is causing all of the issues that would be great! especially if someone fixes the cab :)
