I didnt have any issue with my keyboard.. Im on Mighty Rom Sprint 2/1.

one more thing... anyone who had the first version installed.. YOU HAVE to uninstall it first.. the new version does not upgrade the old version. I ran into issues because I didnt do that.. then I installed BOTH versions and made sure the registry was clear etc.. soft reset and then installed this new version.... Of course it again messed up my email accounts... :)

I did a soft reset several times and no data issue here.. what rom are you on?

EDIT: I see your signature.. you are on mighty?? well so am I 2/1 and I dont have the data issue...
do you mean you can not connect to anything?

EDIT #2: I just did a soft reset after writing thw above and I sitll have DATA .. I can connect to email, web, facebook, twitter, my IM CLIENT and slacker radio just fine..

ok didnt notice I lost my email account lol. Had to use fix then delete the account and set it up again to get it to work. Oh well small price to pay for an awesome keyboard I would gladly pay for!@

OK.. I have not seen that ROM but just took a look at the PPC GEEKS page for it.. Looks like a different it runs a lot of different things.. one of them being the new TF3D.... must be something in there that conflicts with SWYPE.. did the ORIG version work?

You dont have to delete the account..just use the fix program I linked then fix the missing server and password settings... some of these issue are a small price to pay since they can all be fixed for most people... I love the new version.. I just hope it doesnt mess anything else up over time.. I still have the old version if I need to go back.. HOWEVER, when you install it will again break your email....

I wish someone could figure out why it does that.... I wonder how many other people on here have broken email accounts after the install and do not even know it since the account shows up on the EMAIL tab of TF3D but its missing from POUTLOOK.....

it's gotta be the ROM. i had that data problem with an older version of s3... every time i hard reset and installed something from the hd2 ROM (or at least it seemed), i'd lose my data connection and have to flash to stock to update profile (some reason the update profile cab i had didnt work on custom rom). however, with latest s3 8.5, i haven't lost data connection... really strange. s3 actually has new swype cooked in tho ;)

I can't believe no one else posted this...

If you overwrite the modelid with the file provided, you are effectively telling your phone that you are now....a...tmobile hd2.
The swype keyboard has protection in it...only a tmobile hd2 will work with it.

hence why you need the modelid

now here is the kicker...

Say sprint - you run sprint tv. get an error. wanna know why? sprint asks "what phone" and your phone replies "tmobilehd2.
Same thing with prl updates...
I think you get the point...

when you overwrite the modelid, all exchange accounts - gone (sorta). Your 4 digit pin become a lockout - no pin will unlock it.

in short, bad things happen.

And this is why you always provision your phone before you set it up. part of provisioning is setting the modelid...

which is why people on mighty that forgot to provision before seting up exchange need that fix e-mails cab...

Can you tell me what SHOULD be in there for the TP2.. I am glad you told me this. I tried sprint TV and I just get a black screen and the EXIT button.. I want to put everything back the way it was...

can someone create a CAB that puts the SPRINT TP2 modelid back?

I uninstalled this version of SWYPE and it put back RhodiumW in the file.. I assume that is what was there before.. I'm using the 2.0 version of swype that ALWAYS works.. I dont need other programs not working.. I noticed.. none of the sprint specific stuff worked .... thanks for pointing this out... the 2.0 version works fine so I will stick with that...

Well, Now that the file is back, sprint TV still isnt working 100%... sometimes it comes up with the sprint TV logo and other times it just has the black SCREEN and EXIT .. I uninstalled and reinstalled and I now get the sprint TV connecting to power vision but NADA.. do I need to re-provison?? I would think just changing the file back does the trick??? NFL mobile works 100%

EDIT: Looks like you HAVE to re-provision.. my PRL update and profile update no longer worked...

OK so just an update.. to get my phone back to normal I did the following:

1. uninstall this verison of swype which fixed the file with the phoen name
2. re-provision the phone
3. fix the messed up email account with the email fix program I linked in this thread
4. get a profile update (sprint)
5. get a prl update (sprint)
6. install the 2.0 WVGA version of swype hat i had before and was working

now everything works INCLUDING sprint TV.. SO NEVER INSTALL THIS VERSION OF SWYPE OR YOU WILL KILL YOUR PHONE as state above by antother user...

there's obviously another way. i've seen the new one in a ROM. and it wasn't a TMOUS ROM, it was from the asian Rhodium leak with manila 2012 and swype isn't included in that dump. The modelname txt in the windows folder on that rom says T7380 in it and Swype works fine.. you don't ever get that error that says it doesn't work. SprintTV also works (ROM is based for sprint users). the question is, how did the chef get it to work?

GUYS are you all not realizing that you are messing up your phones when you overwite the file... I cant say it does this for every phone model but it did it for mine.. changing that file tells ALL you apps what phone you have (ones that read for it) and especially your CARRIER who, when you change it your can no longer get carrier specific updates (prl, profile) and carier branded apps do not work.. I experienced this first hand after someone pointed it out.. I couldnt do a PRL or PROFILE update and sprint TV didnt work etc...it also messes up your email...

If there is a way to use this new version without changing that file that would be great.. otherwise Im staying on 2.0 and everyone else should do that as well...

Strange because PRL update and Profile update worked fine for me after installing on my Sprint TP2. I guess I was lucky I am currently running SPRINT NEODIUM V6

did you restart the phone after installing? if you did not restart the phone and you ran prl, it shuld work because the changes have not officially been made

EXACTLY... my email account was not messed up UNTIL I did a soft reset... I didnt even think about trying sprint TV or prl/profile until someone mentioned it here

I ran the old version on my touch pro2 forever with absolutely no problems. This new version with the fix and all broke my data connections. Couldn't get it to work again. Was forced to do a hard reset. Folks don't use this version unless you're looking for problems. It seems to change random settings. Who knows how it'd screw up your phone.

I first thought it worked perfectly too, until realizing with later use something was wrong with my phone. Before posting that it works great, make sure you've played around with your phone for a couple hours to see if there are any bugs.

im facing the same problem, mess up email acct and data, but i really dont wanna hard reset my phone yet, anyone have a safe way to return back to normal? im using the stock sprint rom.

You can use the email fix program I linked to to fix the email. If you are on a stock ROM, then I have no idea how you are going to fix the data issues.. I am on MIGHTY and it it has a provisioning program installed. I had to re-run that so that it reset all the phone settings to the proper setup. All is working fine now.. no hard reset needed...

yeah, i used the cab u linked but everything goes back again everytime i soft reset, even if i save it. Yesterday my data was working only on opera but to download my emails they werent working and today i soft reset again and nothing works....men, this swype have really mess up my phone. i guess i have no other choice than just hard reset #$%#@&%$^

So I have my own rom cooked with Calk's kitchen and the update profile and PRL still work after soft resets although I experience no data, went and edited my connection settings and saved now works fine only problem otherwise is sprint TV, I use Swype more than sprint tv so i am keeping this for now.

One thing I was thinking of would be a mortscript that would change the MODELID txt file before the launch of a carrier program, i.e sprint tv. Not sure if this would work But I am going to try.

i'm telling you there is a way to get it to work without using the modelname method, the chefs just aren't sharing how... check custom ROMs that aren't even based on the tmo rom and some of them have a working version of swype and the modelname is simply the tp2 model number.

I got the same problem. All my mailboxes are gone. But I can't configure them again because I get a warning that the mailbox already exists. Where did you find this program "FIX ACCOUNTS"??? I need that program badly!

you can use fix accounts app found earlier in this thread or just delete your account from outlook options. then readd it.

I have just installed swype on my TD2. It works quite good.
I haven't checked my e-mail accounts yet, because I don't use them very often. But I had to reenter the key for my Wifi connection.

I use the german o2 6.5 ROM
