International data usage?

Hey all:

So I'm traveling abroad in a week and want to use my phone overseas, using a SIM local to the country. I have a Sprint Touch Pro 2, and I want to make sure it doesn't try to access the internet while I'm using the SIM. Is there any way to completely disable internet on the TP2 by default? (Does the Sprint TP2 do this automatically when it's on GSM only mode?) I saw a post re: MoDaCo's NoData but it doesn't seem to work on WM 6.5.

Does anyone have any advice for me? Thanks.
