I also have this same problem, I've looked all over and cannot seem to find an answer either. Mine doesn't do it all the time, but it happens quite often.

Re: how to keep data on

thirded same problem..I have been noticing this too. don't really check the status, go to launch a data intensive app, and it cannot connect! very frustrating, have to open comm manager, and turn it on. I guess its to save battery, but I know with Android phones (wife has a G1) it seems to always be on until you toggle it off..

Are you on stock Rom?

Re: how to keep data on

Do you have it set in the weather settings to automatically download data?

Re: how to keep data on

I'm on a stock rom also, I notice it mainly with my emails and some times the weather. When I wake the phone up it will show no data con, I then have to go and turn it back on and then it is fine for awhile. I'm always in a good signal area (there is a tower about 500 foot from my house) so I know the is not the problem.

Re: how to keep data on

nothing more irritating than going to the weather tab and tap update, and you keep getting the "retry" message.
