Texting problem with TP2 (not 2016 bug)

I recently got upgraded to a TP2 to replace my TP1. While I love the phone, I notice whenever Im texting back and forth with someone in a chat, after I exit, it will say I have 3-4 new messages on the msg icon, I then have to go back into the text chat each time and back out to make the number go down to 3-2-1- till its gone. Is there some setting or something to correct this? My TP1 never showed me any new messages if I was already in the chat and backed out of it, but this one continues to until I go in and out of that individual chat the number of times for each message received (while I was still in the chat) does that make sense? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Again, this is not the 2016 bug, the new message notification goes away after I go back into the chat and back out of it, but I just figure if Im in the chat, it shouldnt show me new messages, like the TP1 did

Ok I have not been on standard TP2 sprint WM 6.1 rom in a while (this was an issue only 6.1 rom), so I have not dealt with this issue in a some time. If you want to get rid of it all together flash to a new rom, thier great (Mighty Mike, NRGz28, Deck sss rom, etc) here is a video link if you have any questions.

But if you want to find a fix for your issue, google "phantom messaging on Touch pro 2" from the search, I remeber back before we started unlocking and flashing our devices this was an issue. Manny people nick named it the phantom messaging issue. becuase it gave the appearance you have a new message even if you alread checked it. Hope this helps.

Yeah I know what you're talking about, when I was on the stock rom for sprint, i would just use my up arrow to clear those new messages, but if you install this cab found in this link

I know that his tweaks fixed that problem, when i used his clean up. Otherwise when i was in the specific text message i would just arrow up to clear them all as read. Im sure there might be another cab for what you're describing, but his clean up is the one that worked for me.

Just read thru his post and see if all he did for his tweaks is what you want.
