NYC Guy, maybe you can ask your friend the name of the app you're referring to, and where he obtained it from? Sounds way better than the one I'm using!

Your post & pictures clarified the issue for me and now I realize that the app on my friend's Moto Droid is different than the one you have given us the pictures on and that barfly first posted about. The app you are showing turns our TP2's into remote controls for FIOS TV to use while at home in lieu of a regular remote. The app that my friend has on his Moto Droid does not need a wifi connection and allows him to do do remote programming anywhere he is. He selected a show to record while walking down the street with me and has reconfirmed that there was no wifi connection involved.

Perhaps krusty46 who posted earlier and has a Droid can comment further on the matter and the functionality of his app?

your welcome, I attempted to send myself a the Droid sms link via the set top box(DVR) but the DVR kept saying there was a problem sending(not strange), but it did the same thing when I attempted to map my phone back to the Imagiio(which is the original cab I sent myself and posted yesturday). It still says TP2 comming soon however and that should be nice.

When I couldent send myself the droid link it did provide me with this link http://www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/...osandPinNo:218
it said to enter it into your mobile browser, but when I did it only gave me an option for the Black Berry app. so I selected it to see what would happen and then it took me to the black berry page.

If we could get the name of your friends app on his droid that would help. Possibly someone could port it over to a windows mobile app/cab.

Re: "FiOS TV Remote DVR" app on Sprint TP2?

Installing this little gadget that was posted above now...

Does anyone know of any other cool apps that could link mobile phones to do other functions on the Verizon DVR? Shouldnt be too hard, maybe a few lines of code. Im about to do some searching, and will post here if I find anything worth linking

I recently switch from a Nexus to the HD2 and "Yes" there are two different applications for FIOS: The first is just a Remote DVR application, and the Second is a Vendor locked Remote Control App..

The one I have seen on the this thread is the last - I am also looking for the first version - The application allows you to schedule and delete recorded programs on the DVR - here is a link to the Droid version of said app: http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/com....ams.companion/

Re: "FiOS TV Remote DVR" app on Sprint TP2?

http://www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/...ileAccess.aspx

Windows Mobile

Any 800x480 or 480x800 touchscreen device running Windows Mobile 6.5 or above can download the application from the Microsoft Marketplace by searching for ‘FiOS’ in the application store. Some examples of a supported device would be the HTC Imagio and Samsung Omnia II

The Fios TV Remote DVR is officially available for WM 6.5 handsets through the Windows Mobile Marketplace. I'm still using the Sprint ROM with WM 6.1 on the Touch Pro, so I can't download it from the Marketplace. I would love it if someone could post the .cab here.

That was the app I was looking for. I downloaded tonight and so far it is working fine on my Sprint TP2 with their official 6.5 ROM.

Re: "FiOS TV Remote DVR" app on Sprint TP2?

I live in the Wash DC area. I have TP2 with Sprint 6.5 rom. I have been using the Verizon Fios Dvr app without any problems. I downloaded it from the windows marketplace. Enabled the feature on my DVR and added my telephone number and the DVR gave me a Authorization code to enter in the app on my TP2. After that I was able to use the app without any problems

If someone could post the .cab file so I can install it on my TP, that would be great!
