I installed your cab and when I activate it I am asked to connect to a local wifi signal. My understanding of their app was that it connected to their program guide remotely just like their http://m.verizon.com/tv site does with an easier interface. Am I missing something here?

Yes, this is JUST a remote you can use to control your FIOS through WiFi. The app is available right now, but to activate it in the widget bazaar it shows the TP2 as "Coming Soon".

I do not know if they will be coming out for an app for winmo on the guide since this is accessible via the web anyway as you link shows above.

I could swear that the app I saw on my neighbor's Moto Droid was not connected to a wifi signal. We were simply walking down the street and he opened the app and then showed me a FIOS program guide, selected a show and programmed a future recording. Is it possible that there are two different apps out there?

My friend with the Moto Droid just emailed me and confirmed that he does not need to connect to a wifi connection to use his FIOS app.

FiOS is the service that everyone wished they had. 125 full HD non-recompressed channels, more SD digital channels than any other service, thousands of titles on demand, best picture by far, blazing reliable internet. The only weakness is the HD DVR's capacity.

FiOS remote DVR scheduling can be done from any internet connection. The Wifi requirement is for the wifi remote control app, that makes your phone act as a tv remote.

The app that I asked help on when I started this thread was not for wifi connections only The Moto Droid has an app that allows programming that is far superior to logging into their website with the http://m.verizon.com/tv link. If the app for the HTC Imagio is only for a wifi connection it isn't the one I am looking for.

Re: "FiOS wifi TV DVR/Remote" app cab on Sprint TP2

Here is a screen shot how to in otherwords of the set up process. Also lets you know what the app looks like on our device. All screen shots EXCEPT for the mostly purple screen image, and the first 2 images (TV images) are of the wifios.cab.

Here is some info regarding the RemoteAccessSetup.CAB (1.20 MB) http://www.wmexperts.com/wifi-remote-access

All I did was go to the widget like the one on the 1st pic, enter in my phone info (2nd pic select Imagio), fios sends you a link via text download the rhodim cab or just download the one I provided (wifios.cab). Then set it up and enjoy.

It works very well and in real time.

Re: "FiOS TV Remote DVR" app on Sprint TP2?

Improve, many thanks for your post and all of the photos.

Your post & pictures clarified the issue for me and now I realize that the app on my friend's Moto Droid is different than the one you have given us the pictures on and that barfly first posted about. The app you are showing turns our TP2's into remote controls for FIOS TV to use while at home in lieu of a regular remote. The app that my friend has on his Moto Droid does not need a wifi connection and allows him to do do remote programming anywhere he is. He selected a show to record while walking down the street with me and has reconfirmed that there was no wifi connection involved.

Perhaps krusty46 who posted earlier and has a Droid can comment further on the matter and the functionality of his app?

Every time it loads, it tells me that there is a newer version, and then takes me to a Verizon portal. It did this just after I had just downloaded it to install, as well. More annoying than anything else . . . the app runs OK.

It just doesn't do that much for me . . .
