battery only lasts 6 hours!! pls help!

Trust me, this phone has the worst battery life out there.. I hate it too.. That's the main thing I hate abt this phone..

The TP2 is phone is a highly capable device that can be modified to suit the users needs, if all you do is text and call, there are plenty of phones out there that have full keyboards and / or touch screens.

As much as people like to help, nobody wants to help someone that doesn't search or bother to learn the most basic of things about their phone or doesn't have enough technical knowledge to understand how to use it properly.

You need a phone that is "dummy proof", TP2 is not a dummy proof phone.

It's like owning a performance car, you need to at least know how to use it on an advanced level. As compared to owning a ford escort, you just put gas in it and it goes.

If you REALLY want to keep your phone, then I suggest that you do what we all did and do some reading and some searching. If you don't understand how computer works in general, then it's going to be a steep learning curve.

Or I suggest you find someone to come and physically set it up in person.

sorry I can't add help for the OP, but I noticed that under the system setting of my TP2 there is a Power setting or something that gives you stats for the battery, like last full charge, etc..all the fields for this are zero or never on my phone..at first I charged it with it shut off, then last night I tried w/ it on, but all the values still stay the same, what gives?

hmm got mine yesterday used charged mine all night and unplugged it at 830 this morning...lasted until now 4pm

argh curse my tests that i have this week otherwise i would have hard reset and modded it by now!

one thing I find odd about the phone of mine is the backside, im guessing the battery of course, is usually subtly warm.....

installing a 1% battery cab screws with the stock rom stats or some other ccab you might have installed (IF you are on a stock rom)

like what some of the posts said...you picked the wrong phone for just doing the basic things like texting and basic calling. i hate to say it, but if you bought the tp2 just for those 2 basic usage, the tp2 is too much of a phone for you and yes, i also hope you did not pay too much for it. and even though you don't see yourself really using it how me and most of (if not all) of the members on this forum uses our tp2 device, at least get to know the phone and what it can do.

with that said, on to the subject at hand....install the 2 cabs in the link that bobturismo posted. i agree regarding opera being the the biggest culprit with it's push internet. even if you don't use it, it's in the background working.

also, you can install this free task manager on your phone so you can see which programs/processes are running. you can pick a particular program and terminate it from processing.

the key is definitely to read. yu have to do much research before trying to undertake changing your phone. i'm not a business person but i wanted to get the phone. but, before i made any major changes like unlocking it myself and flashing, i did much reading, googling, and searching. one subject took me 4 days to work out. i finally got it but it was work. doing things like this also helps you learn your phone.

just wanted to add my 2 cents.

I don't know how anyone could have battery issues with this device. Mine lasts 2 days under medium usage, and about 36 hours under fairly heavy use.

Ha! My Tp2 is lucky to make it through a work day doing nothing but idling...matter of fact, I had it fully charged via USB when I left work mid-afternoon a couple days ago, and it was dead by 9pm...I always have a charger of some kind around.
