Re: Blue dots on my screen, what caused it? (with photo)

I took my phone into Sprint to have them check it. The service guy tried to tell me that it was cosmetic damage and that they couldn't do anything. I argued that it was not cosmetic but was instead a manufacturer's defect. They ended up ordering me a brand new (not refurbed!) one.

After I got the new one, I immediately dropped it upon leaving the store. I just about cried.

Don't be silly. I got a refurb replacement for my blue dot problem last week and it was indistinguishable from a new one. Same thing with my Treo 650 refurb replacement that lasted me for years. Now I just have to hope the blue dots don't come back on the replacement.

The blue dots on the screen are hard pressure marks. I had them on my phone and took it into sprint. they replaced it with a brand new one for free. I was told that as long as the screen wasn't cracked that they could replace it. You also have to have insurance on the phone. Hope this helps.

Alda,

I understand, and you may have a solid phone, however, check the menu and see if it is actually a refurb.

After owning no less than 4 refurb TP1's which landed me in the TP2 camp eventually, and working FOR asurion on the floor, I would NOT want a refurb if there was anything I could do about it. I stand by my statement, " i'll take new or blue dots anyday over some assurian assembled garbage!"

Re: Blue dots on my screen, what caused it? (with photo)

So I was struck with this issue, just got home from Sprint Repair Center and they told me it's a cosmetic issue and they can't offer a replacement for cosmetic issues... I told him my phone hasn't ever been dropped or anything, not a scratch on it, but he said it's not that it was dropped or anything, it's just merely cosmetic and not something they exchange phones for... I think it's time for a call to good ole' Advance Tech Support...
