Re: TP2 with Sprint - need info!

Sorry friends...to make it more simple !
My phone Radio version is: 1.96.00WF (which means its LOCKED)
but as already mentioned....this is CDMA version and was actually issue through SPRINT US network. But At present i am using in UK....and it works perfectly fine with all GSM netwroks....but its Radio is still 1.96.00WF.
The reason xplain the whole situation is, because on some threads I have seen that it says to unlock the Radio version to WU and then you can upgradte to Custom rom of WM6.5.
Now in short guide me through:
Can I upgrade straight away just by installing the desried Custom rom of WM6.5 or do i still need to unlock the Radion version to WU?

regards

you don't have to unlock the sim to upgrade to 6.5. I am unlocked and sim locked on sprint. I flash roms all the time. just run the hspl unlocker. that will enable you to flash any custom cdma rom. p.s. sprint rumor is friday a official 6.5 ...holding my breath for it though. to change your radio you need to sim unlock...not the rom....

Glad that you found the update to 6.5. Finally, Sprint released just yesterday. Any 6.5 ROM would have sufficed, so long as it was made for CDMA networks. The CDMA versions of the TP2 come SIM unlocked for overseas use, so you lucked out on that!

As far as taking your contacts from an Excel file, I would imagine that if you got yourself a free trial of Microsoft Outlook you could import the file from your spreadsheet. Then via ActiveSync or WMDC (depending on your PC's operating OS) would be able to get that over to your phone. Also, seeing as you're using a SIM chip and most phones which use one would save contacts over to the SIM you should be able to get them out of there and onto the phone's native Outlook contact application. Good luck!
