TP2 and WM7

Noob here with a very noob question.

I'm considering getting a TP2 thru Verizon. I've been reading here about the pending release of WM7. Do the guru's here think that a TP2 running 6.5 would be upgradeable to 7? Or should I wait for what ever version TP HTC comes out with running WM7.

Intended uses for this phone:

1) Overseas phoning home to the states either thru a VoIP type service or just swapping out the sim. (You purchase mins. on the sim for whatever country your in. Do you still have to pay overseas charges phoning the states??)

1a) After reading some of the stickies, I'm also mulling over using the tether method to phone home. Still working thru the learning curve on that.

2) Win based productivity programs needing a stylus for work .

3) Entertainment.

TIA

P.S. Great site you folks have here. Lots of info.

Re: TP2 and WM7

The Touch Pro will never run WinMo7

WinMo 7 requires a 1 GHz processor (which we don't have)

But you can do everything else on that list that you want to accomplish with your phone. And if you want to double-down and take it even further, I recommend flashing to a custom ROM to get even more goodies out of your device

Re: TP2 and WM7

While it won't run WM7 from the mfg, I am confident that we will see some COMPONENTS of the OS in custom roms as they come out. Yes, I know the processor is too slow and it doesn't have a capacitive screen, both of which are required to meet the minimums set by MS. That being said, I am aware that it will never run it in its entirety.

I have also learned to never put anything past the cooks in here and on xda.
