Is it worth getting the HTC TP2 for Sprint?

Well I have some extra money left over from taxes and was looking to pick this baby up, right now im using a flashed HTC TP, I'm just wondering if there any phones coming out soon or any out right now that are better than the TP2. Also another thing that bugged me with the TP is it didnt let you set individual SMS ringtones...does the TP2 allow you to do this?

well thank you in advance for all the info, im going to continue to keep reading up on this and the palm pre! =))

Re: Is it worth getting the HTC TP2 for Sprint?

I love my TP2 on the Now Network. Really Its my favorite WM device ever, and IMO its the Top WM device out now in the U.S. However with all that said at this point in the year I personaly would wait unless your a primier customer(up grade in 12 months not two years). The next High end WM (more than likely ruuning WM 7) device for sprint will probebly come this fall or winter.

My quick answer, do it only if you upgrade each year and if you can hold off until this time next year. Its a great device today but in 7 short months it will be old news.

Im already considering the HD2 on Tmobile, then again thats end of March and 7 months later Sprint will probelby have somthing better. Because of this I almost always only upgrade in fall or winter as most high end devices are luanched around that time.

I think the tp2 is worth paying for over the tp1 but with wm7 around the corner you might wanna hold off on upgrading til you see what wm7 has to offer.

I second this motion. IMO, TP2 is the best Windows Mobile device. But if you can wait until October/November there will be devices that will be better on Sprint, i.e. faster processor, larger screen.

Re: Is it worth getting the HTC TP2 for Sprint?

IMHO the TP2 is an ok device. Nothing special. I'm not sure I would of spent my money on it (Got it free after many Touch Pro replacements). It has better battery life than the Touch Pro and a bigger screen. For me, the differences stop there. If I had an Everything Plan I'm not even sure I'd be sticking with WinMo. I'd probably be checking out some Android devices and def waiting a bit to see what Sprint releases.

Re: Is it worth getting the HTC TP2 for Sprint?

Software aside, most hardware coming out right now is twice as fast for the same price.
My required features are a real keyboard, expandable memory, capable of wi-fi teathering, replaceable battery (Frack i-Everything!) and wvga screen.
