Okay, so I noticed the on-screen keyboard (that I absolutely despise with all my being) pops up all the time, and still suggests words if used. I don't want to use that, I want it gone, but maybe this is causing the problem. I also noticed Swype keyboard is installed. Could this be a problem? It's incredibly frustrating waiting for the text to catch up (at least 0.5sec per character), I need this fixed. I can't be the only one with this problem, so many people have flashed the new EnergyROM Feb 7th. It's this way after a fresh flash! ((( |

Re: Typing on Opera = s l o w
I've noticed that too. It seems to be slow with any SIP (including the teeny tiny stylus only MS default one, the hardware keyboard, or even Swype).
I remember reading on Operas blog that they were having BIG trouble with Opera in WM because of all the different SIPs available out there and there is no good standard one available across all WM phones. Some SIPs didn't work altogether in the previous versions from what I understand... I have a feeling the way that they fixed this (this is just a total random guess) is that you input text, Opera intercepts the text from the WM kernel(again a guess have no clue how text input works) and then translates it and enters it into whatever field you are attempting to enter it in Opera. Because it goes through an additional step, there is the lag. Unless we were able to up the processing speed, I have a feeling that this is something innate in Opera 10 and can't be fixed. If it can, I haven't found it and have wasted a few hours searching for a fix on PPCgeeks or XDA forums..... |

Thanks for the reply, you're right. I installed a previous version of Opera 10beta 2 (not u) that has always worked great for me, and now I don't have the delayed typing. I'm not on the PC, but once I am, I'll upload the cab file for this version of Opera for everyone else. Only problem is it still tried to guess what I type, and it rotates 90 (no longer 180 & 270 like the sh*tty version). How do I disable these 2 features? |
