I prefer using WMP and HTC Album because they're both free, already installed, and take advantage of hardware acceleration. I tried TCPMP (my preferred player on Palm OS) using settings described throughout the forum, but still prefer WMP.
The movies I'm trying to watch are things like 'The Taking of Pelham 123,' 'Casino Royale,' and the like. I'm not sure what the source resolution is, but I have been recoding them using Handbrake with the iPhone presets.
Initially, I tried the iPhone preset, but bumped up the width to 640. It looked great on the screen, but always cropped the video (sides) when I played them back in full screen.
Next, I tried straight iPhone preset with no changes. The resolution is 480x208 (I'm recoding 'Attack of the Clones' right now). Playback in full screen when the keyboard is pulled out looks fine, but the moment I push the keyboard in, it crops the video! That doesn't make any sense to me. What does pulling the keyboard out have to do with this?
Can anyone help me with WMP options, controls, and tweaks? It doesn't seem like this is an encoding issue, but I'm willing to make adjustments there, too.
Thanks!
